Joel Parent "a Bio"I like to consider myself flexible, adaptable and amorphous for the various situations that I am presented with. I've been in the digital/interactive space for 10 years now and love it.
When I first got a taste of the Internet via my 9600 baud modem in university I knew I was in love. I knew that my science fiction dreams had come true. I was on Lynx, Gopher, Telnet, MUDs, ELM, Linux, FTP, Chat - computer labs, Bulletin Boards, etc! Then I jumped on Mosaic and the web and LOVED that too! I've been all over the Internet ever since.
Today, I am an experienced web guy with a background in project management, digital production (dev & creative), team management, business development, account management, and administration. I have decent and general skills in Adobe products like Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, Flex, Dreamweaver, and am well-versed in PC/MAC/Linux usage.
I love web 2.0 applications and ASP software that promises to make all things more portable and accessible anywhere at any time on demand. I LOVE movabletype, joomla, wordpress and many other online/opensource web framework technologies.
What a beautiful online world we've made! And it continues to get more and more interesting.
I have 3 boys and they all love and immediately absorb all things technological - technology is just another toy for them and I love seeing this brave new world through their eyes. Stuff I LOVE: - Flickr - Profile: Imbecilest
- Delicious - tracks your favorites and ranks them relative to everyone else's and allows you to search for similar links and see what is hot.
- BaseCamp - great project management tool /app
- Roboform - ESSENTIAL management of links/IDs/passwords for this web-fixated existence
- Squash - the game
Video Games:
- Jak and Daxter,
- Wii Sports,
- Super Mario Galaxy,
- Dawn of War RTS games,
- WarCraft/StarCraft,

- Health - being as fit as a SEAL!
- Career - being able to financially retire if I so choose when I am 40.
