It’s a familiar story, a school has a site that was made by a teacher, but now that some IT staff and the teacher roster may have changed no-one knows how to make updates to the site… Where does that leave us? How do we use a website to communicate with our students and parents and how do we use it to attract new pupils/parents? So, this project was about putting together a system that could help solve all problems at once: - get a hub together that could be updated with news articles
- organize and post downloadable content like PDF files and word docs for community to access
- share school imagery
- provide private area for teacher’s to post blog articles about their classrooms which parents can access through their own login credentials
- Make it easy to update – no techies required
- Manage and share a calendar
- Provide a secure and safe contact form (without threat of spam)
That is precisely what was delivered. The site features the following: - ability to author and edit articles through a secure backend, or via Windows LiveWriter
- Google Calendar integration for calendar/event management
- full site AJAX text search
- Rendering for mobile device access
- secure contact form with auto CAPTCHA in case of detected scripting
- Registered-only area for parents and teachers to share news
AND all of this was delivered affordably for the school and with minimal recurring hosting costs. Contact us if you have questions or you’d like a quote for your website redesign or build.
